2010 Yearbooks Are Here!

Class of 2010, your yearbooks are available for pick-up in the main office of Kaneland High School. Parents and siblings are welcome to come to the office to pick-up the yearbook for graduates.

Current students who ordered the 2010 yearbooks may pick them up on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of this week during STEN in the cafeteria. For those that do not have a first block class, they can pick their yearbooks up in Mr. Bruno's classroom (A205A) after school.

NO After-School Practice or Activity Bus for 2010-2011

Reminder to MS/HS Parents: There will not be an after-school practice or activity bus this year due to budget reductions. Parents will need to make transportation arrangements for their middle school and high school students to be picked up after athletic practices, after-school activities and after-school detentions.

Students

As you plan your academic program, we encourage you to read the Course Description Booklet carefully and follow the guidelines on other registration materials. As you make your plans, be sure to consider not only the courses you wish to take next year, but also those classes that will meet your goals over the four years of high school. As you make your course selections, keep these questions in mind:

• What courses do I need to meet my high school graduation requirements?

• Have I met the prerequisites for my proposed class?

• What are my interests, strengths, and weaknesses?

• What elective classes will broaden my experiences?

• What career alternatives am I considering?

• Considering my career plans, what additional education might I need, such as college or vocational school, and what courses will prepare me for entrance to these schools?

Parents

The counselors and teachers are eager to help all students meet their goals. We encourage all students to take advantage of the many opportunities available through our curriculum. High school is the time to get a solid academic foundation and a time to explore different subject areas. Counselors are qualified to help students assess their academic and personal abilities in order to become increasingly capable of making wise educational choices, but the final responsibility for making these decisions rests with the communication between the student and his/her parents. We are happy to be a resource to you and your child as you proceed through this career decision-making process.
